finishing things you love ruins the experience because you are aware it will end at some point

Well done, Hannah.

No, really.

Congratulations. You had a whole week off and you managed to do, what, two posts?

Anyway, lots of ~things~ have happened.

First of all, I finished Freaks and Geeks.
brb crying my eyes out.
omg sam's bitchface <3

this is ridiculously adorable

Also check out my so-called life guyyz

Moving on.

I finished The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath.

It is depressing and brilliant and sad and funny and depressing and interesting and DEPRESSING.

It is written so...SO...there is not a valid word to express the way in which it is written.

Or maybe I just don't have the right word available.

The little details are described with such beautiful, ridiculous metaphors that makes everything so much more perfect and vivid. To write a whole review would take lightyears, even though the book (novel? semi-auto-biography? piece?) is reasonably short.

I don't think that I am old enough to grasp it fully.

I get the point of it being great and all though.

It really is evident that Sylvia herself was a bit mad whilst writing The Bell Jar. Maybe being mad was good in her case?

Of course it was.

Anyway, this is really rambling and non-sensical but basically go read it unless you don't want to slightly ruin your life.

titles are irrelevant.

Half term is quickly coming to a close.
Well, it feels like it is.
Anyway, despite my promises I haven't posted for five days. Which isn't too bad.
But considering I've been wallowing around in my inability to be bothered to do ANYTHING, I should be more attentive to this blog of mine.
Anyway, here's what I wore today...

Gorgeous stairs in my garden.
Black velvet skater skirt-H&M

Tights under socks-Gap
Grey jumper-H&M
Necklace-Pac Sun
Shirt under jumper-American Apparel
There's more to come, my lovelies!
But now I have to do homework.

having friends who are artists is helpful

Sorry for my absence.
I've been busy.
But now it's half term and I will have time to post more. Pinkie promise.
Luckily for me, one of my mum's/my/family friends is an artist.
I recommend having an artist as a friend.
sheepwolf 2010
She has a series of these kind of sculptures - two animals joined into one. For me this is a symbolization of internal conflict. The wolf wants to eat the sheep and the sheep wants to run away but neither can fulfill their desire. It's also about fear and hidden personalities - someone who seems innocent could in truth be dangerous. I really love this work. It means so many things and can be interpreted in so many different ways.
valentines copy
Is this what it feels like to be in love?
I imagine so.
I wouldn't know, though.

This has a very similar meaning to the sculpture above. The bird wants to fly, but it is anchored to the ground by the cat. It's like enclosing yourself in a cage, and the part of you that wants to be free is held back by the opposing part of you that won't - or can't - do so. This is so relevant. I think everyone feels like this sometimes.

Also, here's her website.

DMs and Daughter

My amazing Dr. Martens are getting too small.
The thing that's been really annoying me is that everyone has DMs now.
Even 'uncool' people, if I may judge myself.
My only problem is that I don't want to be thought of as another teenage trend-follower (as oppose to trend-setter.)
Oh well. I have a burning passion for these heavy-grunge-rebellious-teenager-goes-with-everything-brilliant boots.
So, I'm on a hunt for my next fabulous pair. I made a Daughter-themed collage because I'm cool like that. Enjoyyyyyyyy!

By the way, sorry about my lack of writing. I've been a bit moody lately.

No, I do not have a tumblr account.
Never mind.
I can pretend.
I am feeling outer space vibes.

My brain has run out of interesting things to say. For now.
